What I wish someone told me before university is that it won’t be easy. You will have to sacrifice a lot and work very hard, but everything that you go through now will help you grow later on in life. It’s up to you to decide whether or not you’re willing and able to give this four years the attention they deserve, but just remember that while it might feel like your whole world has turned upside down right now, you’ll get used to it soon enough. Keep your head up high no matter how hard things are for you at the moment! Work hard but play even harder! Make new friends, forget about old ones if necessary. Find yourself! Follow your heart and don’t ever stop learning because knowledge is power!
After all, you are now free to do whatever you please. You are now your own boss! How wonderful is that? Enjoy every single moment of it because it might be just around the corner when real life starts. Everything changes so fast and there’s no point in thinking about what you could have done differently back then. Just be sure to have fun during this new chapter of your life! Trust me, you deserve it! Make mistakes if necessary but learn from them as well. Anyone who tells you they haven’t made any is clearly lying or has been living under a rock for the last four years of their lives. Universities are not fashion shows where everyone tries to look perfect at any cost; on the contrary, you’ll meet a lot of people from all walks of life there. If you’re lucky, you might find friends who will stay with you forever. Cherish those moments as well!
While university might teach you a thing or two about how to make ends meet, it’s more important for you to know that it won’t be easy and that no one can save the world single-handedly. Learn how to ask for help every once in a while and don’t ever think less of yourself because of your problems! We all have them after all! The sooner we learn that nobody is perfect, the better our lives will be. Be kind to others but also kind to yourself by following your heart wherever it may lead you…and always remember: everything happens for a reason.
Oh, and don’t forget to eat healthy food! There’s nothing worse than bad sleeping habits combined with unhealthy eating plans, so you might want to take care of your body while it’s still young enough. Remember that everything matters when it comes to looking after yourself because the way you feel reflects on how you look . So, don’t get sick all the time! Oh…and don’t forget about exercising either…because I’m sure you’ll love spending some quality time in university gym 😉
Now that we’ve covered most important topics (or at least that’s what I hope), go ahead and write down what you wish someone told you before university started. And if this post helped you out in any way, feel free to share it with your friends!
